The Relationship Oversight Officer role within Network Management group is primarily responsible for coordinating activities ranging from account openings and closings, bank relationship management, maintenance and creation of account information in the account repository, negotiation & processing of bank related documentation, communication of market practices and regulations, fee negotiations, service reviews and act as a centralized escalation point.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Network Managers in managing the relationship with the agent bank network providing clearing, settlement, custody, cash and credit services for Markets businesses around the world:
- Ensure that all legal documentation is signed, scanned and linked to Abacus
- Maintain agent bank details on Abacus and ensure this is kept up to date
- Carry out all standard account openings and closings, as well as new relationship setup
- Ensure that agent bank and relationship bank contacts are kept up to date at all times on Abacus
- Learn market practices and regulations, and communicate changes to interested parties
- Become subject matter expert in markets covered
- Ensure that account structure and documentation meet Regulatory requirements (ie FCA/SEC, etc.)
- Maintain the central record of cash and security accounts that are open throughout the agent network :
- Communicate all opening and closing requests to the agents with appropriate authorization
- Maintain a database (Abacus) of all accounts known to be open at all agents throughout the network
- Act as escalation point for operational issues
- Provide Workflow tool training, and assistance with onboarding new users
- Involvement and coordination of high profile projects relating to Risk Management, Data Integrity, Process Management and Change Management
- Work closely with the the Europe, Middle East and Africa BNM Relationship and Group Manager to establish department / individual goals & assist in providing feedback on employee performance for the Relationship Associates Team
- Provide Matrix Support to Europe, Middle East and Africa BNM Relationship and Group Manager in providing local administration requirements
- Co-ordinate department deliverables and Drive projects to completion
Ideal background:
- 5-10 years of experience in the international financial services industry, preferably with Network Management for an international broker dealer or global custodian
- Bachelor’s/Universitydegree
- Experience managing bank relationships, fee negotiation, account opening, documentation & the corresponding regulatory considerations
- Understanding of cash and securities settlement processes
- Experience working within a large global matrix organization structure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc)
- Network Management experience with an international bank, broker dealer or global custodian is preferred
- Project Management experience and working knowledge of SWIFT (admin, system, & industry initiatives) is a plus
