IaaS Network Director, IBM Corporation, San Jose, CA (Up to 80% telecommuting permitted): Lead overall architecture, product and engineering for cloud VPC networking including strategic technical direction for VPC network. Deliver on cloud product roadmaps on-time and with high quality as well as increase speed of product innovation that will drive the next phase of growth for cloud networking. Create and evangelize a transformative vision for cloud networking direction. Develop, lead and inspire the cloud VPC networking team, act as a magnet for engineering and product management talent and accelerate hiring. Build and operate highly scalable, performant and resilient cloud networking services with a focus on operational availability. Make organizational and process changes to eliminate any friction impairing us from the continuous delivery of value for cloud customers and maximize engineering productivity. Partner with the cloud sales organization in order to continue to grow and scale the cloud networking business. Work with cloud product managers, offering managers and developer teams in multiple locations to analyze backlog, review customer feature requests and plan and deliver features and bug fixes for cloud VPC networking. Lead and manage team that handles upgrade activities to address bugs and security vulnerabilities for cloud networking software. Lead and collaborate with cloud architects and managers to design and deliver customer centric features and defect fixes. Utilize: Software Defined Networking (SDN), Linux Operating system, VXLAN Overlay Technologies, Layer2/Layer3 forwarding Networking Technologies, Networking Controllers, Routing Protocols such as BGP. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Director, Engineer, Software Engineer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Software Defined Networking (SDN), Linux Operating system, VXLAN Overlay Technologies, Layer2/Layer3 forwarding Networking Technologies, Networking Controllers, Routing Protocols such as BGP. $ 352,850.40 per year .
