You will be a key member of the Connectivity Security leadership team with reach across the department and will be at the forefront of driving a multi-year journey to evolve our network security agenda. You’ll ensure our current platforms remain effective against existing threats, while also anticipating future threats and building out new capabilities as needed.
Responsibilities:
Lead multiple teams responsible for network security engineering capabilities, working with key partners to influence, shape, and deliver our products and features.
Plays a key leadership role within Connectivity, Operations, Resilience, Engineering (CORE) community of leaders, working with close partners to build a collaborative culture within the wider team
Partner with leaders in Connectivity Transformation to make sure that all network solutions have security embedded within them
Drives innovation activity as an outcome and partner extensively with other Technology organizations such as Cyber and Associate Experience Technology as required
Represent the department as required at S3/S4 sessions
Define, manage and monitor service based KPIs
Providing service and risk reporting and analysis to internal and customer leadership
Recruits, develops, and retains top talent, and uses excellent people leadership skills to foster a culture to be proud of
Help shape the overall strategy of network security at Capital One
About You:
You have a deep understanding of the network security ecosystem and the current and emerging threat landscape
You understand engineering at scale and can lead teams that can build and adopt automation tools to reduce operational overheads
You are an expert people leader, experienced in growing and maintaining high-performing teams, with an eye on the future making sure we are set up for success
You are a focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic, and collaborative team environment.
You display strong judgment, data/risk based decisioning, leadership, integrity, and communication skills, articulating trade-offs where present.
You enjoy leveraging your engineering experience to problem solve and continually learn new technology concepts to solve issues.
You are able to tailor communications and analysis to the intended audience.
You are knowledgeable about Capital One’s services, policies, procedures and standards.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
At least 7 years of experience in cyber, cloud, or network security engineering
At least 7 years of Technology or Financial services industry experience
At least 5 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree
10+ years of Technology or Financial services industry experience
9+ years in network engineering, security engineering, or software engineering
7+ years of people management experience
5+ years of experience in a regulated environment
Industry recognized professional certifications such as CISSP, AWS, GCP, Cisco
