Perform a wide variety of tests on a broad spectrum of materials: mechanical and fastener testing, environmental testing, material characterization, and sample fabrication
Conduct testing in an extremely fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Interface with a broad spectrum of internal customers to coordinate sample preparation, test updates and observations
Independently complete materials tests and generate reports or summaries of findings
Management of laboratory assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and serviced
Develop, author, and ensure conformance to laboratory standard operating procedures
Support engineering staff in the root cause analysis of test failures and development of new test methods
Support management in the procurement, purchase, and installation of new equipment
What You’ll Bring
Practical knowledge and working experience within a materials test lab or similar, including basic understanding of diverse types of materials
Experience operating and maintaining materials test equipment and/or environmental chambers is preferred. Experience working with hand tools, sample preparation equipment and CAD software is a plus
Familiarity with materials-centric test standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, SAE)
Experience working with hazardous materials, with a willingness to exhibit and promote health and safety across the team
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish effective working relationships
An ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and manage time independently; must maintain top level professional integrity and appearance throughout
