What You’ll Do What You’ll Bring
- Perform a wide variety of tests on a broad spectrum of materials: mechanical and fastener testing, environmental testing, material characterization, and sample fabrication
- Conduct testing in an extremely fast-paced, high-pressure environment. Interface with a broad spectrum of internal customers to coordinate sample preparation, test updates and observations
- Independently complete materials tests and generate reports or summaries of findings
- Management of laboratory assets, ensuring all equipment is maintained, calibrated, and serviced
- Develop, author, and ensure conformance to laboratory standard operating procedures
- Support engineering staff in the root cause analysis of test failures and development of new test methods
- Support management in the procurement, purchase, and installation of new equipment
- Practical knowledge and working experience within a materials test lab or similar, including basic understanding of diverse types of materials
- Experience operating and maintaining materials test equipment and/or environmental chambers is preferred. Experience working with hand tools, sample preparation equipment and CAD software is a plus
- Familiarity with materials-centric test standards (e.g., ASTM, ISO, SAE)
- Experience working with hazardous materials, with a willingness to exhibit and promote health and safety across the team
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to establish effective working relationships
- An ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and manage time independently; must maintain top level professional integrity and appearance throughout
