You will also collaborate with functional partners and communications colleagues to help raise awareness of the Payments business – and ongoing innovation – externally, particularly among the fintech/payments community. In addition, you will source earned media opportunities, promote new partnerships and solutions, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders among partners and clients, and focus on the business’ strategy to reach key audiences.
Job Responsibilities
- Raise the visibility and awareness of J.P. Morgan Payments to increase consideration among target buyers, partners and the fintech/payments community
- Support the development and execution of a communications strategy to proactively tell the J.P. Morgan Payments story with our clients and partners, as well as manage incoming requests
- Effectively deploy strategies to target key media outlets that reach key audiences
- Establish, maintain and deepen relationships with key media outlets
- Serve as counsel to our spokespeople and partners on media, reputation and communications strategy
- Draft and edit communications materials
- Protect and enhance our reputation passionately
- Draw on Payments, as well as CIB Communications, resources to ensure strategic alignment with the company’s priorities
- Travel to and staff key events as needed and appropriate
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or relevant field of study
- 7+years of experience in media relations or public relations within the technology/fintech industries, with deep knowledge of and relationships with media in related landscape
- Demonstrated experience in creating tailored messaging as well as understanding of the PESO model
- Passionate storyteller with ability to communicate clearly and concisely through superb written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, networking and presentation skills, creativity and ability to generate big, new ideas and take (smart) risks
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues across lines of business and functions to lead strategy and execution while navigating internal stakeholders
- Ability to manage large-scale, complex projects with discipline, speed, flexibility, adaptability and precision. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with outstanding judgement, problem-solving ability and resourcefulness; ability to self-motivate and work independently
