Compensation Specialist, Human Resources

As a Compensation Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Supports the creation, production and verification of compensation related data in 3M’s annual proxy statement; including portions the Compensation Discussion and Analysis, all Compensation tables and footnotes, Board Pay, CEO pay ratio and the Pay versus Performance table.
- Administer the Performance Share Award Program, including the management of existing grants, issuance of new grants, and distribution of deferred grants.
- Manage the timely and accurate processing of payments to 3M’s Board of Directors. Ensure compliance with payments, 1099s, distributions, adding new board members to Fidelity as needed and ensuring proper payments issued to retired directors.
- Conducts informational meetings with executives and responds to inquiries for executive compensation counsel, practices, and procedures throughout the year.
- Responsible for communications and internal intranet creation or updates for related processes named above.
- Collaborate with internal partners such as HR, Legal, Finance and others on projects, processes and issue resolution.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start).
- Five (5) years of HR or finance experience in a private, public, government or military environment.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Master's degree in business or HR from an accredited institution.
- Ten (10+) years of HR or finance experience in a private, public, government, or military environment.
- Skills include knowledge of compensation programs and processes, communication andrelationship-buildingskills with the ability to influence, analytical and problem-solving skills. Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy. Proficiency in Workday, Excel, Power BI, and Workiva.

- Hybrid Eligible (Job Duties allow for some remote work but require travel to 3M Center as needed)
