Job Description:The Client Linux OS Engineering team within Platform Software Engineering, Client Computing Group is focused on developing system software solutions across various operating systems for Client SOCs.
You will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Windows/Linux kernel components for Intel x86 client platforms.
- Engage in device driver development, board bring-up, system debugging, and performance optimization for Intel processors.
- Implement critical silicon-level telemetry and streaming features to enhance system performance, power, and reliability.
- Lead performance profiling and analysis of Intel SOCs designs, focusing power management, C state wake, and residency, to identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities.
- Debug silicon and software failures throughout the product development lifecycle, including both Pre-Silicon and Post-Silicon phases.
- Develop new test strategies and tools to enhance driver verification and validation processes.
- Design and enhance open-source media pipeline solutions to maximize performance over Intel SoC products through HW/SW co-design and co-engineering.
- Collaborate with Intel engineers and the open-source community to enable new platform features and contribute upstream.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 8+ years of industry experience in research, development, product engineering, and/or validation.
- 8+ years of strong expertise in C, C++, and object-oriented programming with experience in kernel-mode and user-mode driver development for Windows/Linux.
- 5+ years ofexperience with x86 Architecture Internals and ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface).
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with popular kernel debugging tools, such as:
- Windows: WinDbg, KD, TraceView.
- Linux: GDB, KGDB, KDB, Ftrace, Perf, SystemTap.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficiency with Windows Driver Kit (WDK), Linux kernel development, debugging tools, and low-level system programming.
- Experience with state-of-the-art development tools and open-source software development practices.
- Familiarity with PCIe, USB, Bluetooth, and other device interfaces.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
