- Act as a data thought partner to business & product leaders across various teams through providing insights, recommendations, and enabling data informed decisions

You will be joining a team focused on ensuring our customers have a seamless experience with Airbnb, ensuring that any features driving a need for customer contacts are prevented from launching and that any existing issues are identified and corrected. You will help surface and understand gaps in our policy, product, and services that are customer impacting and work with cross-functional partners to drive awareness and ultimately fixes. A Typical Day:
- Work closely with Business Leaders and Product Managers to design, execute and evaluate A/B tests. Understand common pitfalls and caveats of experimentations.
- Define how to best measure the performance of Airbnb product and business through new metrics and dimensions. Align with stakeholders, understand tradeoffs and guardrails, prototype metrics through custom data pipelines.
- Build, maintain, and grow business insight & reporting platforms to monitor changes to key Airbnb success metrics. Determine root cause drivers and work with teams across the company to explain impacts and recommend improvements.
- Empower the team to answer data questions quickly and easily by building high-quality ground truth data sets and dashboards. Collaborate with cross-functional partners to leverage this information into actionable insights.
Your Expertise:
- A minimum of 5+ years of industry experience in business analytics and a degree (Masters or PhD is a plus) in a quantitative field (e.g., Statistics, Econometrics, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research).
- Have experience supporting community support and/or have worked closely with operations teams
- Expert skills in SQL and expert in at least one programming language for data analysis (Python or R). Experience with non-experimental causal inference methods, experimentation and machine learning techniques, ideally in a multi-sided platform setting
- Working knowledge of schema design and high-dimensional data modeling (ETL framework like Airflow)
- Ability to work under conditions of ambiguity in a fast-growth, sometimes uncertain and complex environment - comfortable acting with minimal planning, direction, and supervision. You can identify issues both within and outside of your immediate scope, and propose solutions.
