As an Independence Consultation Network Manager, you’ll help engagement teams in FSO make educated, thoughtful decisions on Risk Management. You will consult on various independence policies and procedures and participate in Public Company Independence Procedures.
The projects you will work on are complex in nature and may impact relationships with or services to major clients. In this role, you will have fairly broad decision-making authority, subject to review by Americas Independence Leaders. You will work close with your Region Independence Leader and collaborate with other Region Independence professionals and deliver sound advice to help us maintain our Independence. Your key responsibilities
You’ll help our Region teams comply with the firm's Independence and Quality & Risk Management (Q&RM) policies and associated regulations when working with clients, vendors and others. You will consult on one or more Independence policies, procedures or processes, including non-audit services, Public Company Independence Procedures, Personal Independence matters, and policy violations or regulatory breaches. You will interact with executive level personnel across the Americas, and across broad service and industry lines, serving as an ambassador for Q&RM. You may also lead a team, and assign and delegate work assignments and review performance, as well as train others.
Skills and attributes for success
- Ability to use knowledge gained from in-depth client service to resolve Independence policy and procedure issues, violations and concerns
- Experience managing client relationships to meet or exceed expectations, advising what to expect and when, and listening and responding to client needs
- Understanding of the key requirements of regulators’ independence rules and firm policies
- Knowledge of Risk Management areas outside of independence
- Ability to identify emerging risks and propose solutions to address these related to proposed engagements or services offerings
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Project management skills to successfully handle multiple projects and initiatives concurrently
- Ability to think strategically and handle complex concepts
- Ability to solve problems across multiple service line, industry sector and geographic Areas
- Proficiency at driving and adapting to change
- Competencies in delivering tough messages to executive leaders within the firm
- English language skills – excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong listening and interpretation skills
- Good working knowledge of emerging technology
- 7 plus years of related work experience
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Ideally, you will have
- A valid CPA license with audit experience
- The ability to exercise significant levels of independent judgment and discretion when analyzing complex issues and risk across industry and service lines
- A demonstrated capability to thrive in ambiguous circumstances
- An ability to understand emerging technologies and corresponding business disruptions
- Use your knowledge and experience and refer to the firm's Independence and related policies and regulations, to identify appropriate opportunities and solutions

- We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $96,300 to $180,100. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $115,600 to $204,600. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
