Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Business Capability Mapping:

  • Collaboration and Synthesis:
    Develop specific deliverables, views, and viewpoints by synthesizing the work of others, drawing from disciplines such as strategy development, business analysis, process management, operations, and systems analysis

  • Strategic Development:
    Formulate a business architecture strategy based on situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations

  • Structured Approach:
    Apply a structured business architecture methodology to capture key enterprise views, acting as a technical resource within the team

  • Goal Alignment:
    Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals, ensuring traceability through the organization, mapping these to metrics for ongoing governance

  • Liaison Role:
    Act as a liaison between business and IT, conveying business needs to IT and data constraints to the business, ensuring alignment between business strategy and IT strategy, processes, and initiatives

  • Product Coordination:
    Identify priorities and manage multiple work streams, coordinating activities across departments and tracking deliverables to meet deadlines

  • Function Description:
    Describe the primary business functions of the enterprise, distinguishing between customer-facing, supplier-related, business execution, and management functions

  • Innovation and Experimentation:
    Apply technical and functional knowledge to conduct experiments or research, exploring novel approaches

  • Technology Utilization:
    Demonstrate effective use of technology to complete assignments, working in ambiguous situations and explaining complex issues to build alignment

  • Outcome Alignment:
    Ensure architectural outcomes align with business outcomes, driving technology reuse and voluntary use of architecture patterns by delivery teams

  • Enterprise Goals Understanding:
    Understand the goals of the Animal Health EA group within the enterprise

  • Technology Planning:
    Drive business outcome-oriented technology planning and investment by mapping interdependencies between business capabilities and IT applications and platforms

  • Performance Metrics:
    Align architects’ performance metrics and incentives to support business outcomes, such as digital maturity, cost savings, process efficiency, error reduction, innovation, and revenue growth

  • Artifact Development:
    Develop artifacts to quickly build an enterprise view of changes happening in each Value Team over time

  • Investment Comparison:
    Provide a way for decision-makers to compare Product Line investment plans effortlessly

  • Roadmap Maintenance:
    Develop and maintain detailed roadmaps for each product line, outlining priorities clearly


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience with TOGAF, Zachman Framework methodologies

  • Proficiency in Business Process Modeling, Strategic Planning, Requirements Management, System Designs, Business Process Improvements, and Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA)

  • Strong understanding of business strategy and the ability to interpret and develop operational needs

  • Proficiency in designing and implementing effective IT architecture for business process management

  • Experience in developing information usage/decision-making use cases, information models, and quality assessments

  • Ability to analyze, design, and develop solutions based on current versus future state in alignment with business needs

  • Knowledge of enterprise technology capabilities and their reuse for end-user and application development services

  • Leadership skills to drive business transformation, including strategic planning, entrepreneurship, innovation, and business acumen

  • Strong communication skills to interpret and develop strategies for operational needs. Ability to clearly convey complex ideas and strategies to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

  • Proven track record in coaching, development, talent growth, and execution excellence

  • Experience with at least one EA tool like Orbus, Mega, LeanIX, Bizzdesign, etc.
