Where you work:

The TSMC Kumamoto plant,by Japan Advanced Semiconductor Manufacturing (JASM), is TSMC's first semiconductor production facility in Japan. Located intown, a suburb of Kumamoto, thisplant is part of TSMC's global expansion strategy. The facility produces chips ranging from 6 nanometers to 28 nanometers, catering to various applications including consumer electronics and automotive industries.

RoleResponsibilities:

  • Performs all standard service activities through Tier I unassisted. Performs standard Tier II withassistance. Able to perform routine preventative maintenance within establishedtimeframes. Completes quality repairs.
  • Responds tofabissues by communicating with other engineers andparticipatingin escalation conference calls. Mayparticipatein projects to reduce costs and increase uptime.
  • Follow procedures you learn during your training, as well as published task plans, to test equipment and to diagnose and resolve technical problems
  • Complete required job documentation, safety training and procedures for processing parts
  • Professionally represent Applied Materials to the customer, using your “customer first” mindset
  • Satisfy the company’s and customer’s on-site requirements, including safety, environmental and COVID-19 guidelines

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or mastersdegree in engineering related (Hardware related preferred)
  • Ability to readelectricaland mechanical schematics
  • Clear and effective written/verbal communication skills, with an emphasis on document details
  • in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in any of the following: pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics
  • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter
  • Chinese and English are must, Japanese is a plus
  • Language Certification: TOEIC 550or above

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Welcome experience in customer/field support, semiconductor industry or another equipment support industry
  • New College Graduatesare also welcome


What to expect

  • SO (Field Service Organization) CE: Relocation within Country based on business needs. Also, in general,you’llwork withApplied MaterialsJapanAGS on-call model to provide ongoing technical support for our customers. Some product field service teams may need to work in shifts depending on business needs.Your job requires the ability to:

  • Lift at least10~20kg.
  • Work in a clean room environment wearing coveralls, hood, booties, safety glasses, and gloves
  • Sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach and stretch to reach equipment when needed, and stand for extended periods of time
