Microsoft Asia is one of the 3 regions of Microsoft Commercial Business and covers 6 Areas: ANZ, India, Greater China Region, Japan, ASEAN, and Korea. All 6 areas of Asia have been a key enabler of the market IT growth through solid partnership with Governments, Enterprise, Small and Medium Corporates, as well as IT partners and consumer partners of the region. Microsoft Finance is a truly global finance team, and you will be part of the WW Finance community for Global Partner Solutions [GPS].

  • This role will be responsible for supporting and driving the Global Partner Solutions (GPS) Team within Greater China – it is a unique and exciting opportunity for deep business partnership with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external and will have a blend of rhythm-of-the-business (RoB) activities and analytics to drive business decision making.
  • This role also has an expanded scope that supports the Asia Regional Lead responsible for managing the ISV Partner Channel, responsibilities include understanding the health of the ISV business, understanding key levers to analyse and drive actionable insights to influence outcomes.
  • This role will become an expert on all aspects of our Partner ecosystem, including different partner types and the competitive landscape.
  • The role will be required to perform analysis on financial performance and investment ROI and provide clear actionable insights for the business to take to realise potential.
  • The role will also have a unique opportunity to represent Microsoft externally as we support the GPS Team to enable and drive our partner ecosystem.
  • This role is part of the Asia SMC and GPS Regional Finance Team. The team is a diverse and inclusive team, with team members based across Asia.

Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 4+ years of post-graduate Financial Analysis, Accounting, Controllership or Finance work experience

  • OR Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Data Science or related field AND 6+ years of post-graduate Financial Analysis, Accounting, Controllership or Finance work experience
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience in Finance with strong demonstration of (people) leadership, business partnering capabilities and analytical strength.
  • The successful candidate ideally has experience in Business Partnering roles in a subsidiary/Area, proven track record of achieving exceptional results through influence where no direct line authority exists.

This position involves a significant amount of exposure to executive and senior management and requires the ability to communicate ideas and analysis effectively, thereby influencing business decisions, so executive maturity, business acumen and presentation and communication skills need to be your strengths.

Responsibilities

Prioritize

  • Performs analysis and research of present and future financial performance, financial plans
  • Assists in the execution of annual business planning and forecasting process. Completes analysis, modeling, and research to support preliminary and adjusted forecast cycles; partners and solicits insight from business and commercial stakeholders.
  • Provides business leader support and actionable insights during financial close periods. Reviews recurring financial reporting and presentations; identifies trends and formulates action plans. Determines financial results and conducts variance analyses; identifies variance causes and solutions. Collaborates to ensure execution of plans and accountability for results.

Partnership

  • Provides business insights and recommendations to peers and stakeholders to achieve revenue and profitability goals and drive shareholder return, including; resource allocation, cost optimization, revenue generation, trends, and future requirements. Manages and executes processes through engagement with internal and external stakeholders. Collaborates with business leaders to define action plans for financial and business analysis findings.
  • Applies advanced understanding of Microsoft Finance and business (e.g., monetization strategy, market, key drivers, revenue channels, advanced technology, and business partner work context) to multiple situations to evaluate results and analysis. Develops and manages strategies to proactively mitigate, or reactively address, potential adverse effects of macroeconomic and/or geopolitical risks. Maintains working knowledge of Microsoft financial systems, policies, and processes to evaluate potential impacts of changes, and drives improvements in efficiency and accuracy.
  • Contributes to new and unconventional methods and approaches to data collection, analysis, interpretation, and financial models. Provides advice and direction to teammates and peers on data management and operations.
  • Leads efforts to leverage new technology, such as AI / Copilot to increase productivity and land at accurate conclusions.
  • Integrates varied data sources and assimilates the information into a comprehensive, clear narrative. Communicates results in a compelling and understandable message. Articulates understanding and awareness of business partner situation.

Protect

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, legal standards, and regulatory requirements by reviewing and monitoring accuracy of financial documents and business processes; drives corrective measures. Consults with business partners on sharing financial information, approved instruments and processes, and consistency with corporate policies. Collaborates with Compliance groups to ensure team is current on company policies and procedures.
