Job Responsibilities:
Manage defensive pre-litigation demands and litigation matters through their entire life cycle.
Hire and oversee outside litigation counsel.
Provide regular legal advice and guidance to internal client groups.
Work on a team with other attorneys and legal professionals.
Perform a wide variety of attorney tasks.
Build relationships and collaborate with key stakeholders.
Ensure project deliverables and timelines are met.
Basic Qualifications:
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
Active member in good standing of at least one state bar.
At least 4 years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department, government agency or a combination
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as an attorney in a law firm, in-house legal department and/or government agency. Previous experience in the financial services industry and/or in providing regular advice to HR teams is a plus but not required. Applicants without financial services experience who otherwise meet the criteria are encouraged to apply.
Federal court or state appellate court clerkship.
Ability to manage a large number of matters across a range of substantive legal areas.
Ability to work in a dynamic environment and flexibility to adapt to changing needs.
Ability and desire to learn new areas of law.
Ability and willingness to work as a team player.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
