Your Role and ResponsibilitiesIBM India Systems Development Lab is looking for a Technical Content Engineer / Professional to be integral part of a team responsible for Product Development/testing of PowerVC Platform on Power. The product is built on the Openstack cloud computing platform using Python. In addition, there is an opportunity to work on several OpenSource communities and front end/back end development as well.- As a technical content professional, you are expected to
- Work closely with developers, testers, and L3 to gain knowledge and understanding of the release deliverables and enhancements for all components of PowerVC with respect to documentation.
- Be familiar with the Agile development process.
- Be skilled at analyzing the product team’s requirements, environments, and providing lucrative content solutions to enhance the documentation.
- Confidently communicate with leadership and other stakeholders.
- To review and update feature blogs, Readmes, command line messages, and UI help texts.
- To drive and conclude content review calls with stakeholders independently and the larger Content Pak Guild community.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 4 – 7+ years of experience in developing content for software or hardware products.
Experience in creating and editing PowerPoint presentations for leadership consumption. - Experience in creating video tutorials using Camtasia or a similar tool.
Experience in maintaining social media handles for product release and other announcements. - Excellent written and oral communication skills, with demonstrated ability (portfolio) to communicate complex technical topics clearly and succinctly.Experience creating a wide range of assets for IBM Power® Systems servers.
- Experience using authoring tools such as DITA Oxygen, Adobe, and Markdown markup language required to produce content.
- Experience using GitHub Enterprise/GitHub Desktop for the PowerVC document repository of source files.
- Familiarity with Visual Studio Code for Markdown editing of files.
Knowledge of Jira, RTC, or similar project management solution for viewing and tracking the Issue Board. - Thorough understanding of IBM Digital Content Services (DCS) and using IBM Docs Manager and Workflow Manager (WFM) for content publishing. Ability to study on your own, learn quickly, and put new knowledge into practice
- Experience using Google Analytics is a plus
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Any documentation experience with technologies like Openstack, virtualization and public cloud services, e.g., Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is an added advantage.
