Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the successful operation of the cluster activities of major significance to the organization. Responsible for Divisional P&L.
  • Think strategically – create holistic plans that create long term success
  • Partnering across divisions to anticipate market dynamics and create BSC approaches.
  • Develop and implement all necessary commercial policies and procedures to ensure the effective business level of the division and to meet business objectives.
  • Prepare, gain acceptance, and monitor the implementation of the annual operating plan (which should be in line with mid-long-term EMEA and cluster divisional strategic plan) to ensure that all general strategic and financial targets are met, that revenue flows are maximized and that fixed cost are minimized.
  • People Leadership:
    • Define and implement right organizational structure per country to ensure that the division continues to operate efficiently and effectively.
    • Recognize success, reward, motivate and challenge team
    • Analyse and update sales rep commission scheme
  • Selling Activities: Manage quarterly cluster sales forecasts and participate in the determination of market potential and sales expense estimates, within business approach; Identify sales forecast gaps, submit corrective strategies and implement aggressive sales growth by Country. Ensure each sales representative through regional sales managers & sales manager has growth and maintenance accounts with clear targets and action plan; Identify & recommend promotion programs and materials to help support the sales plan & strategy;
  • Business Management: Monitor cluster & country sales performance on an ongoing basis, initiating corrective actions, preparing reports, summaries, analysis and documentation on all aspects of region management; Plan and control expenses to ensure sales objectives are met within budget; Perform a monthly P&L review; Integrate individual territory plans and account profiles into a broader regional sales plan and coach sales team accordingly; Conduct quarterly sales reviews and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Clinical Excellence: Collaborate with Medical Affairs team.
  • Building and Maintaining Relationships: Establish and maintain effective formal and informal links with major local and regional accounts, key decision makers and other stakeholders, seeking to leverage them into profitable business ventures and to exchange information and views and to ensure that the company is providing the appropriate range and quality of services.
  • Industry Knowledge: Provide continuous tools and education to team members to ensure up to date industry, competitor and product knowledge; Maintain knowledge of the industry and the competition continually seeking information from physicians, pharmacists, suppliers, and others to challenge, modify and prioritize cluster strategy; Maintain awareness of industry trends and their impact on country sales activities; Work closely with Health Economics COE in order to accelerate/maintain funding for our products; Articulate strategies in order to leverage the Health Economic environment, anticipate competitor moves.
  • Creative Economic and Value-Added Solutions: Identify and develop working relationships with the economic buyer; Facilitation of contract negotiations involving all products within the division; Create a compete “bundle” of product and value-add services; Evaluate situations as they affect both the account/customer, as well as the division’s overall long and short-term business needs; Help define negotiation parameters for tough economically constrained customer situations.

Knowledge, skills and experience required:

  • Strategic and regional mind set;
  • Over 10 years of experience in managing medical devices business
  • At least 6 years senior level experience of management of people and resources; advanced coaching skills;
  • A good understanding of financial management and wider management principles and techniques;
  • A very high level of commercial skills and awareness;
  • Leadership skills;
  • Excellent command of English language; other regional languages would be advantageous;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational skills;
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
