The objective of this internship is to utilize an engineering student to focus on extracting additional value from projects and tasks that are ongoing in multiple markets in Latin America. The ultimate goal is the development of a Machine Learning model correlating network Configuration Management with Performance Management to identify optimization opportunities, which could then be trialed to assess and fine-tune the model.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Data Collection and Analysis: Gather and analyze data on radio access network parameters, network performance counters, and key performance indicators (KPIs) from existing network infrastructure. Initial focus on major radio access network vendors.
Model Development: Develop a foundational model that correlates radio access network parameters with network performance counters and KPIs. This model should be capable of inferring the existing network's performance and identifying opportunities for parameter changes to improve performance.
Algorithm Implementation: Implement algorithms to process and analyze the collected data, ensuring the model can accurately predict network performance based on various parameter changes.
Validation and Testing: Validate and test the model using historical data to ensure its accuracy and reliability. Make necessary adjustments to improve the model's performance.
Documentation: Document the model development process, including data sources, algorithms used, validation methods, and any challenges encountered.
Collaboration: Work closely with senior engineers and other team members to ensure the model aligns with project goals and integrates seamlessly with existing systems.
Reporting: Prepare regular reports on the model's development progress, findings, and potential improvements. Present these reports to the engineering team and management.
Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in radio access network technologies and machine learning techniques to continuously improve the model.
Minimum Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering or Computer Sciences, preferably in the 3rd year or higher.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in English and Spanish (written, spoken, and reading).
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with programming languages such as Python or R, particularly for data analysis.
Understanding of cloud services applications (AWS, Azure, Google) and SQL. Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker is a plus.
Self-directed, flexible, organized, team player with good interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of machine learning model creation, implementation, and assessment.
