Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate within a diverse team environment, demonstrating a strong work ethic and customer-focused approach.
  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies, following basic recipes.
  • Label, date, and rotate products according to FIFO principles.
  • Work independently and as part of a team, adapting to various tasks.
  • Follow directions and perform additional duties as required or requested.
  • Prepare a wide variety of patisserie items and breads using traditional and modern recipes.
  • Maintain knowledge of recipes, ingredients, allergens, and presentation.
  • Operate efficiently in a clean, organized, and high-pressure environment.
  • Assist with inventory rotation and maintenance.
  • Adhere to NYC Sanitation Code policies and uphold JPMC food quality and safety standards.

Required qualifications , capabilities and skills

  • Perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully, meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Stand for prolonged periods and move about on foot to accomplish tasks.
  • Execute frequent movements from place to place within the property, including bending, lifting, carrying, reaching/extending arms and hands above shoulder height, and climbing stairs.
  • Use cutlery proficiently in a safe and swift manner.
  • Operate kitchen equipment effectively.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively and follow instructions.

Preferred qualifications , capabilities and skills

  • Have 3 years of previous experience in a professional kitchen.
  • Offer flexible availability, with the ability to work more than 10 hours if needed.
