In general, under this role as a Material Planner, you are responsible for eensure material readiness for build plan commits, Inventory Management of excess and shortages, support engineering change order on time with clear material’s disposition, ensuring forecast demand and purchase requisition accuracy accordingly to MRP.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
System data accuracy
- Ensure weekly data accuracy of forecast demand, Planner PR, DSI (Demand, On hand, OPO & others), BOM setting for primary/ Alternate, GPN/APN, Procurement Type, MRP Type and others
- Work with internal teams to continue drive for system improvement including but not limit to Oracle, MRP/Data base etc. business processes.
Build plan commits
- Works with US Planning and Asia planning to understand demand trend vs actual loading plan in short and long term.
- Work with buyer on PR and PO management and Supplier Commit to ensure material readiness to support demand trend and production plan.
- Work with POM/NPI procurement on material procuring process to support NPI qualification build till mass production.
- Review weekly Demand and Supply Integration (DSI) Report to determine part health status (shortages, excess etc). Provide accurate full kit/CTB/Material Commit and constraint list to support PCBA, MP & NPI build.
- Determine which commodity or capacity is gating for current week’s Material Commit Plan. Expedite shortage material to support demand upside.
- Manages demand and supply well in accordance with MRP messages to meet inventory target and avoid excess. [Weeks of Inventory (WOI), Weeks on Orders (WOO) and overall Weeks of Supply (WOS)].
- Analyze safety stock level setting for component level.
Inventory Management
- Manage excess inventory/liability for EOL project & obtained approval for disposal with justification.
- Work with POM/CP/Asia planning team to dispose material from aging/going to expire/NPI Qual.
ECN / ECO
- Ensure clear disposition & action taken for all related ECO/AML/MCO
- On time respond to all related ECO/AML/MCO from aging/escalation
- Other tasks assigned by managers.
