What You’ll Bring to the Role:
To set yourself up for success, you’ll bring the following skills and experience:
- BMC Values – You express and embrace our core values in everything you do.
- Mainframe Expertise – 5+ years of experience with IBM Z Mainframe in a presales or related technical role.
- Solution Vision – Ability to conceptualize and articulate the "art of the possible" based on a client’s technical architecture.
- IBM z/OS Expertise – Deep subject matter knowledge of z/OS operating system and the subsystems CICS, MQ, USS, both from a technical and business perspective.
- Industry Experience – Proven expertise in implementing, managing, or optimizing z/OS solutions.
- Engaging Communication – Proven ability to craft and deliver compelling technical demonstrations.
- Problem-Solving Mindset – Strong analytical skills with a solution-oriented approach.
- Teamwork & Autonomy – Ability to thrive in both team-based and independent work environments.
- Language Proficiency – Fluency in German & English is required.
- Willingness to Travel – Up to 25% travel may be required.
While these are beneficial, we’re committed to helping you develop in the following areas:
- BMC AMI Ops (formerly MainView) – Familiarity with BMC Software’s AMI Ops solutions or equivalent monitoring tools.
- Capacity Planning & Storage – Background in capacity planning and/or storage management is an advantage.
- AI & ML Integration – Exposure to Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in mainframe environments is a plus.
