Management of the statutory financial reporting process for selected European entities, with focus on UK and Luxembourg registered companies;
Oversee the coordination of annual audit of external auditors;
Manage a professional working relationship with the external auditors and other Citi departments;
Conduct review of the work of team members to ensure high quality of financial statements in line with accounting standards and applicable regulations;
Ensure statutory and regulatory deadlines are met;
Cooperate with the Corporate Tax function and other Regulatory departments to assist them with tax returns and regulatory submissions respectively;
Subject matter expert of statutory financial reporting rules and disclosure requirements;
Implement reporting procedures to comply with Citi internal control requirements;
Lead process improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and accuracy of statutory reporting;
Work together with the regional Accounting policy team in determining the accounting and reporting treatment of complex and unusual transactions.
Ideal background:
8-10 years of experience in financial auditing or financial reporting and accounting or controlling
IFRS experience
US GAAP experience is an advantage
Familiarity with UK GAAP is an advantage
Prior experience with preparation of financial statements and supporting external audit
Experience in leading projects
Strong PC skills including advanced MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, access or SQL is advantageous)
Excellent analytical skill
Advanced verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines
University/College in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
ACCA / Chartered accountant qualification is an advantage
