Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payroll Lead to join our team. As a Payroll Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of payroll processing and ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations in US and Canada. This role requires a deep understanding of payroll systems, tax laws, and accounting principles. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, analytical, and possess excellent communication skills.

  • Oversee processing for a large employee base, including data entry, calculations, and adjustments for US and Canada payrolls.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions, including salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions.
  • Verify payroll reports for accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
  • Stay up-to-date with federal, state, and local payroll tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Review and reconciliation of W2 and T4 forms.
  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll issues, deductions, and tax withholding.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related issues and improve processes.
  • Conduct audits of payroll data and records to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Ensure documentation of payroll processes and consistency throughout all payrolls.
  • Assist with the implementation and testing of payroll system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Train and mentor payroll team members.
  • Act as a back up to process payroll
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in payroll processing, with a focus on complex payroll functions.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll systems, tax regulations, and accounting principles.
  • Experience with Canada payroll tax and payroll processing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with acute attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels.
  • Proficiency in ADP, Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with multi-state payroll processing is a plus.
  • Strong commitment to confidentiality and ethical conduct.
  • Understanding of equity programs (RSU, ESPP and ISO) and payroll processing preferred

The salary range for this position is $80,000 – $115,000/year, plus commissions or discretionary bonus, which will be based on the employee’s performance. Base pay may also vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits
