Intern – Molecular Biology- Discovery and Technology
Your internship assignment:
As an intern,you will work on a project to characterize viral agents that cause neonatal diarrhea in animals.
Your responsibilities
Learn about the viral causes of neonatal diarrhea
Learn about Next Generation Sequencing based sample analysis and the interpretation of NGS results.
Learn and apply qPCR technology, including primer design / optimization.
Manage a large dataset, perform bioinformatic analyses, summarize and present the data.
Provide a fresh perspective within the department: your opinion matters.
The described tasks form the basic package and will often be performed independently after a proper training and learning period. These tasks may be supplemented with other projects and/or tasks on your own initiative or at the request of the organization.
What is required:
A fourth-year HBO (BSc) / university student MSc (Molecular) Cell Biology, Virology, Biochemistry or equivalent
You are familiar with molecular biology / virology techniques, you have completed at least one previous internship.
You are enthusiastic about working on vaccine development for animals, have a professional attitude, eager to learn new techniques and challenged to do an internship in a dynamic complex environment.
You are searching for an internship where you have the freedom to take initiative
You are fluent in Dutch or English
You are available 5 days per week for a period of 6 months, starting in January/February 2025.
