HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE AND WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

As a Payroll Cluster Manager, you will:

  • Foster a strong team environment and a strong service culture nimbly in order to transform our employee experience with compliance, security and accurate reporting
  • Manage APJ cluster Payroll operations end-to-end with full responsibility and accountability.
  • Provides professional expertise to carry out assignments/projects to specify systems and/or implement, deliver/maintain and improve payroll services, as directed.
  • Guide, monitor and motivate team member to achieve business objectives
  • Work with payroll vendors to build strategic partnership to deliver best-in-class payroll related services to end-users
  • Manage and oversee payroll operations of APJ cluster countries’ as per country specifics.
  • Lead and champion change management activities, technology or process, to get the best value for the business. Support the portfolio of all payroll related projects in APJ countries, e.g. new vendor transitions, transformation projects, integration projects, excellence initiatives etc.
  • Transform the payroll operations to become more automated, digital and scalable to enhance employee experience while collaborating closely with Region Head of Payroll and other stakeholders to ensure needed changes are supported by Payroll.
  • Proactively seek for improvement in payroll quality, compliance and efficiency.
  • Lead internal/external audits in APJ countries.
  • Payroll approval based on standardized process (including not limited to SOX requirement) and ensure accurate and on-time delivery.
  • Provide expertise to find payroll solution in line with company policies & processes and local legislation.
  • Cascade down global policies/processes and initiates changes in local payroll processes
  • Guide team in objective setting; give constructive feedback to team members in 1-in-90 discussion and annual performance review to enhance team engagement.
  • Act as a team player for the Payroll team
  • Manage corporate people management processes
  • Drive team integration activities for the team
  • Professional monitoring of the payroll specialist’s tasks
  • Internal escalation point for Payroll Specialists performance
  • Manage central payroll specialist pool for the respective team, in cooperation with other Team Leader(s) and Payroll Managers
  • Provide professional advice in terms of centralized payroll administration
  • Drive centralization and standardization of payroll processes across countries
  • Collaborate with Payroll Managers to ensure accurate and secure payroll delivery
  • Acting as an expert of global Payroll processes, practices and tools and ensuring that their application is in line with the local legislation
  • Tracks down compliancy issues and collaborates with other HR colleagues and employees
  • Provides expertise for region/cluster/country specific payroll questions
  • Provides payroll expertise for HR projects

Besides the above-mentioned team leader tasks the role will have Payroll Manager responsibilities, such as:

  • Tracks down compliancy issues and collaborates with other HR colleagues and employees
  • Provide expertise for payroll interface questions on payroll vendor interface side
  • Proactively seeks for improvement on payroll quality, compliance and efficiency
  • Project support for payroll and time management related projects
  • Internal escalation point for payroll related queries
  • Monitor vendor’s performance through KPI’s and SLA follow-up
  • Oversee the preparation and filing of required reports and/or payments to government agencies, employees, and other organizations.
  • Continuously reskilling and upskilling payroll team to service excellence, quality, project management as well as enabling technologies while creating a digital and agile workforce.
KEY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You have:

  • 5+ years in Payroll / HR
  • Multiple years of program / project management experience
  • Experience being a Subject matter expert in APJ local legislation including but not limited to employment and taxation
  • Experience being a Subject matter expert in SOX and audit
  • Experience in Operational Payroll process, statutory obligations, compliances, benefits, taxation matters and related knowledge.
  • Ability to work effectively with teams, to deliver projects and initiatives
  • Understanding and experience managing Payroll activities, policies, tools and processes required
  • Excellent communication skills with team management experience and strong service- and result-orientation

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Headcount management experience
  • Leadership and team management experience, or good skills for leadership
  • Innovation ability
  • Business Process improvement through continuous improvement tools and techniques with experience delivering standardisation, automation and efficiency outcomes,
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experienced in driving change successfully,
  • Co-operative team player and team leader,
  • Able to distinguish and operate at both strategic levels and at task levels
  • Managing Payroll & related services across countries in APJ& China region, other geographies experience is added advantage.
  • Established Vendor management experience preferred
  • Expertise in Robotics, PowerBi, chatbot, Advanced Excel and Macro related skills will be preferable.
  • Expertise in Six Sigma methodologies would be preferable
  • Knowledge of SAP HR systems other relevant HR tools (like workday, Oracle would be preferable).
  • Change management experience
