Cloud Operations + Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services through planning, building, and operating Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure datacenters across the globe. CO+I is supported by multiple business verticals including supply planning and strategic acquisition, global construction, datacenter and edge site operations, critical environment and availability, engineering, and datacenter innovation.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years of experience infinancial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles.
    • OR equivalent experience.

Other Requirements:

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role.These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 8+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR Master's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 5+ years experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 3 + years people management experience.
  • Demonstrated project management and organization skillswitheffectiveattention to detail.
  • Extensive experience collaborating across groups, building effectiverelationshipsanddriving multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Effective executive acumen and experience collaborating and partnering withsenior leaders.
  • Demonstratedverbal and written communication skills, with the ability to drive claritythrough effective storytelling.
  • Thrivesin adynamic,fast-pacedwork environment, excelling under pressure and adeptly managing tight deadlines.
  • Proficient with Microsoft products, such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and Teams.

Responsibilities
  • business operationsfor CTO office of CO+Ithroughdevelopment and executionoforganization's Rhythm of Business (ROB),strategic/fiscal planning activities,businessand staffreviews,andsettingobjectivesaligned withclearorganizationalpriorities.
  • Maximize and extend the leader, acting as a trusted advisorand aligningorganizational activities withleader'sgoals and key priorities. As part of the organization’s leadership team, cultivate and manage relationships with internal leaders.Seekand aggregate feedback to provideinsights andperspectives toleaderon organizational aspects, informing tactical and strategic decisionsthatinfluenceorganizational alignment andobjectives.
  • Develop strong partnership with theCO+I Chief of Staff, Executive Office, and broader Business Management(BM)Community.Act as an extension of the Executive Officebydisseminatingappropriate informationtoleaderandorganization, connect dots across the business,andshare best practices within the BM Community. EnsureCTO of CO+IBM Community is well connected,informed, and executing on strategy and business goals.
  • Manageorganization’sfinancial,includingforecasting/reforecasting, fiscal planning, discretionary(training,travel, and morale), and headcount management.Collaboratewith key financialand recruitingpartners toexecuteclear,forward-looking,and well-defined financialand recruitingstrategy fortheorganization.
  • Design and overseecommunication and engagement strategies,craftingcontentand creating clarity for leadership andorganization.Utilizestorytelling andprograms, such as Excel, Word,PowerPoint,and SharePointtotrack, communicate, and visually representrelevant, actionableinformation.
  • Drive accountability and execute core business activitiesby aligning business priorities with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and performance metrics. Create clarity in ambiguous situations tofacilitateand drive prioritization and decision making for leaders across the organization.
  • Monitororganizationalhealth and support the leader in responding to team culture issues, as well as promoting cultureinitiatives(e.g., Diversity and Inclusion [D&I], hiring, onboarding) while partnering with Human Resourcesto review and respond to team feedback. Trackand driverole-based and compliancetraining completion ratesand ensurea healthy compliance scorecard for the team.
