The Business Unit Manager is an essential role in the tech industry. They are responsible for increasing profitability and market share of the company by developing and executing strategies. The Business Unit Manager works closely with sales and marketing teams to identify market opportunities, develop competitive strategies and secure new and existing customers. To accomplish this, they will use a variety of market analysis tactics, such as competitor comparisons, pricing considerations, and buyer insights. They also work collaboratively with other departments and teams to align go-to-market plans with the goals of the wider organization. The Business Unit Manager must possess excellent negotiation and communication skills, have a strong commercial acumen, and have the ability to remain competitive in a changing technology landscape.
