Job Summary (Primary Function)

The Senior Manager/Associate Medical Director, Dermatology – US Medical Affairs, Inflammation and Autoimmunity will support the development and execution of U.S. Medical Affairs strategy and tactics for assigned disease area (ex atopic dermatitis, hidradenitis suppurativa, vitiligo). The individual will be responsible for providing medical leadership and strategic execution across initiatives such as medical education, external expert engagement, and data dissemination while providing medical support to internal stakeholders. This position will report to the Director/Sr Medical Director, USMA – IAI.

We welcome applicants from diverse clinical and scientific backgrounds including M.D., Pharm.D., Ph.D., Nurse Practitioner, and Physician Assistant professionals who bring dermatology expertise or industry-relevant Medical Affairs experience to engage in scientific exchange.

Essential Functions of the Role

Strategic & Scientific Leadership

Support the Medical Director in developing and operationalizing the U.S. Medical Affairs plan aligned with brand and organizational goals

Contribute to disease and product strategy by integrating insights from medical experts, MSLs, clinical development, and commercial functions.

Lead select strategic initiatives and represent Medical Affairs in cross-functional team activities/initiatives.

Deliver clear and balanced scientific interpretation of clinical and real-world data to both internal and external audiences

Build and maintain trust-based relationships with external experts

Represent Medical Affairs at scientific congresses and advisory board meetings

Collaborate with Clinical Development, Biostatistics, and Health Economics and Observational Research on post-approval and real-world data generation

Serve as subject matter expert for commercial and market access advisory board meetings, and as needed for promotional material review via the Medical-Legal-Regulatory Committee

Provide medical training support for MSL and internal stakeholders

Contribute to sales training, speaker bureau content development, and field team enablement

Qualifications and Preferred Experience

Required Education & Credentials (One of the following):

M.D. or international equivalent

Pharm.D., Ph.D. in life sciences or related discipline

Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with advanced clinical training and experience in dermatology

Professional Experience

2 years of industry experience in Medical Affairs preferred

Demonstrated experience in evidence generation or medical communications

Familiarity with pre-launch and launch Medical Affairs planning desirable

Experience with inflammatory skin diseases (ex. AD, HS, vitiligo) preferred

Skills & Core Competencies

Ability to communicate complex medical/scientific concepts effectively across audiences

Strong understanding of clinical data analysis, translational medicine, and real-world evidence

  • Implement contracts and pull-through strategies with retail pharmacy customers to support commercial efforts for Opzelura.
  • Manage existing 3PL relationship for all contracts implemented through the network pharmacy program.
  • Develop and implement performance metrics to ensure timely access to Incyte medications; monitor and evaluate product fulfillment in the retail channel; and create awareness of patient services aligned to brand objectives.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Retail, Specialty, and Hospital pharmacy channels, including evolving trends and capabilities, to ensure an industry-leading approach to patient support.
  • Implement contracting strategies and collaborate with Market Access, Product Strategy, Finance, and Commercial Analytics to support forecasting of Gross-to-Net discount rates.
  • Monitor and evaluate new distribution initiatives that enhance Incyte’s reputation as a valued pharma manufacturer.
  • Contribute to weekly channel team meetings on market issues including SP network objectives, retail programs, and IDN dispensing.
  • Serve as the strategic liaison between Supply Chain and the Commercial team, ensuring alignment of priorities, seamless communication, and effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • Log and report product complaints in partnership with Medical Information and Quality Assurance teams to help ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Partner with Finance and the Senior Account Director to effectively manage accounts receivable and monitor credit limits, ensuring strong financial controls and positive relationships with specialty distribution partners.

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)

  • Experience with Market Access customers and retail pharmacy contract negotiations preferred.
  • Familiarity with Retail, Specialty, and Independent pharmacy, as well as Wholesale and Specialty Distribution channels.
  • Understanding of various contracting approaches and topics across dermatology therapies.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with dermatology, oncology oral, IV, and biologic agents preferred.
  • Experience in distribution, marketing, finance, sales management, strategy, GPO, and payer contracting valued.
  • Understanding of pharmacy financials, including commercial and government healthcare environments.
  • Understanding of 340B programs strongly encouraged.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse audiences.
  • Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time to meet with external stakeholders.

Design, deliver, and manage all aspects of the Oncology Sales, Marketing, and Market Access and Business Operations training curriculum, including new hire onboarding, product launches, disease state education, and ongoing professional and leadership development.

Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing training team responsible for the creation and delivery of training programs.

Partner with Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to ensure all training materials are accurate, compliant, and up-to-date.

Establish and maintain the LMS to roll out, track, and report on all training activities for the Oncology commercial organization.

Oversee the training budget, optimizing the use of internal and external resources to maximize impact and efficiency.

Regularly assess training effectiveness and implement improvements based on feedback, business needs, and market changes.

Develop and deliver programs focused on both sales effectiveness and leadership capabilities within the Oncology commercial team.

Ensure all training content reflects the latest developments in oncology, including key brands and emerging products.

Submit all training materials through the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process to ensure compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.

Significant years’ experience in leadership development, talent management, or organizational effectiveness

Extensive experience in pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, with a strong preference for oncology/hematology market knowledge.

Proven track record in Sales and/or Marketing training and development, including leadership roles.

Experience with adult learning principles, instructional design, and e-learning technologies.

Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access).

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without authority.

Willingness and ability to travel (15-20%)
