Job Summary

What a typical day looks like:

  • Lead and manage the UK Bar Product Technical Team, providing guidance and support;
  • Ensure all Bar Products comply with the relevant industry standards and regional regulations;
  • Manage resource allocation effectively to deliver the assigned tasks in a timely manner;
  • Manage performance of the Bar Product Technical Team and identify both individual and team areas of investment & improvement;
  • Participate in all aspects of “team” development and mentoring to achieve “Engineering Excellence”;
  • Contribute innovatively with the Quality & Engineering Systems departments to improve business best practice;
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical expertise where required;
  • Liaise directly with clients and company members to troubleshoot and resolve technical queries through electronic communications or face to face meetings, both in the office or on site;
  • Take ownership for Bar Product documentation from an accuracy, content and availability perspective to clients and company members in line with the company’s document control function;
  • Help drive continuous improvement activities withinengineering/technical;
  • Promote proactive risk identification, mitigation and resolution.

The experience we are looking to add to our team:

  • Relevant engineering qualifications (BEng/MEng/CEng are preferred) or comparable industrial experience;
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in experience of exposure to Busbar Trunking Systems;
  • An understanding of IEC 61439-6 Busbar trunking systems (busways) is essential;
  • AutoCAD experience is advantageous;
  • Ability to interpret product standards, component technical information and technical drawings;
  • Excellent personnel management, interpersonal, communication and presentational skills - verbally as well as in written form;
  • Demonstrated pro-active, practical & flexible approach to work;
  • A valid full driving license is required, with occasional travel as needed.

  • Liaising with the sales team to understand client specifications and requirements
  • Ensuring drawings issued are controlled, accurate and easy to follow
  • Aiding Sales to resolve problems with new & existing product designs
  • Liaising with 2D & 3D Designers to ensure library is accurate
  • Utilising AutoCAD to add tags to existing drawings

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Relevant experience in a switchgear production environment (electrical) will be considered in lieu of a third level qualification

  • Liaise with clients and provide technical advice as required.

  • Collaborate with the design team to modify drawings when necessary.

  • Ensure service engineers have the correct parts and test equipment before starting work.

  • Assist with technical support on call outs and service works when required.

  • Generate comprehensive Operation & Maintenance manuals, including:

    • Operation procedures

    • Maintenance procedures

  • Support the technical department as required.

  • Provide technical assistance to the CPS operations team, CPS sales team, and key clients.

  • Create and review CPS reports.

  • Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments for LV Switchgear tasks, including:

    • Isolated Maintenance

    • Breaker Maintenance

    • Thermal Imaging

  • Ensure all project documentation is complete, current, and properly stored.

  • Lead by example and promote a culture of safety and quality.

  • Encourage broad ownership of risk management across the team.

  • Maintain awareness of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental) matters relevant to ongoing work.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to streamline and improve company processes.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

  • Relevant degree would be beneficial

  • Proven experience in a technical role supporting a Maintenance team

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, SLD’s and Schematics

  • Strong experience in reviewing RAMS and Method Statements

  • Experience within the Power industry would be preferred

  • Strong understanding of EMEA market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and industry standards (IEC, EN, etc.)
  • Experience supporting sustainability initiatives and ESG implementation

  • Experience with hyperscale and colocation markets is a plus
  • Multilingual skills and willingness to travel within EMEA are strong assets
