License Review

• License review and risk evaluation of various forms of third-party IP (Intellectual Property) and other materials, including:
  o Free and Open Source Software (FOSS),
  o (Free) Third-party web APIs/services,
  o (Free) Third-party contents and standards (e.g. data sets).
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders on licensing efforts of third-party IP through meetings, emails, and service tickets.
• High level review of the technical integration of third-party IP.
• Prepare and present approval requests and risk evaluations and mitigation plans.
• Interpret license materials as well as technical use cases to help SAP make informed decisions.
• Enhance, simplify and improve third-party license review process in collaboration with legal team.

Open Source Legal notices (OSLN) - external customer requirements

Perform research task: verify records, identify source code, extract copyright information from source, input data.

License Compliance and Data Quality

• Check compliance of third-party IP with the internal SAP quality standards for third-party IP.
• Perform validations of for SAP products to check licence compliance.
• Work with various departments (e.g., Strategic Pricing, Sales, and Marketing teams) to ensure that SAP products added to the SAP price lists comply with the corporate standards
• Provide independent support regarding licensing related processes and policies.
• Explore and analyse legal as well as process topics around third-party IP and make recommendations.
• Gather and document process and risk management requirements and create documentation related to inbound licensing and compliance.
• Support with license compliance projects.
• Presentations and knowledge transfer sessions.
• Process and System improvements / Automation: Actively drive process improvement, work with our developer to address any technical improvements and automation needs.

What you bring

• Bachelor or Master Degree in Business, Law, Management of Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent degree.
• Basic expertise in open source or other third-party licensing terms.
• Familiarity with licensing, contracts, risk assessment and compliance.
• Basic understanding of compliance concepts and interest in legal/finance processes.
• Knowledge of the software development lifecycle is an advantage.
• Customer service skills - high service attitude, while making no compromises on compliance.
• Ability to think proactively and create pragmatic solutions.
• High level of ownership, responsibility, motivation, and drive.
• Flexible team player able to deal with transition and change.
• Being able to work independently.
