Role and Responsibilities

  • Provide human resources guidance and partnership to the local Vancouver R&D team and remote support to the Toronto and Montreal AI labs

  • Serve as an initial point of contact for diverse, non-critical employee-related inquiries and be able to escalate and prioritize matters as needed

  • Be responsible for benefits administration and monthly plan review and invoice reconciliations

  • Support the People Team with internal and external events

  • Support and provide guidance on Canadian immigration policies, PR support documentation and Work Permit applications

  • Contribute and positively impact the ongoing culture; be a key driver of ongoing engagement within the site

  • Point of contact for exit interviews for voluntary terminations

  • Work closely with the People Team Director to create input and carryout program initiatives

  • Analyze HR trends and metrics to recommend solutions for current programs and processes

  • Provide guidance on policies and also contribute to the design or enhancements of policies and procedures.

  • Manage special projects as assigned in a broad range of areas, as business needs arise

Skills and Qualifications

  • 5 years of progressive experience in human resources and at least 3 years of prior experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist supporting technical teams preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree specializing in Human Resources Management

  • CPHR designation is an asset

  • Strong communication, leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills with proven skills in communication,relationship-buildingand influencing best practices

  • Successful in supporting effective and positive employee relations, retention, and reward programs

  • Ability to handle strictly confidential information

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines; ability to manage multiple competing priority simultaneously

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Positive attitude and willingness to go extra mile to support the team.

The salary range for this role is expected to be between $71,000 to $95,000 and reflects base salary only. Actual pay will be determined based on a number of factors and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, competencies, qualifications, relevant skills and experience.
