Your impact

Based anywhere out of the eastern United States (e.g., Arlington, VA, Virginia Beach, VA, Washington D.C., Boston, MA, Charlotte, NC, etc.), you will support ecological risk, and other ecosystem service projects from study design to site characterization, data manipulation/evaluation, and interpretation. Evaluations will include ecological receptor exposure estimation/modeling, bioavailability and bioaccumulation modeling, relating literature-based and empirical toxicity data for risk estimation, risk characterization, and overall reporting. You will interact with technical experts from multiple fields to develop and implement comprehensive site strategies and deliver innovative solutions on challenging sites. You will work primarily on projects in the United States for clients including federal (USEPA, Department of Defense), mining and other industrial, research and academic, and with contaminant classes including metals, polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons and petroleum, chlorinated organics, pesticides, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances, and more. This opportunity will provide you experience working on the full lifecycle of ecological risk assessment and related projects. The majority of your duties will be office-based, but you will be expected to travel to some project sites where you will participate on or lead field teams performing site characterization activities and/or overseeing subcontractors performing such activities. Additionally, your duties will also include communicating project results to clients and other stakeholders, including the regulatory community.

You will work in a flexible, supportive team environment with experienced staff who will mentor and assist you in your career growth at Jacobs, and who will also learn from the knowledge, experience, and perspectives you bring to Jacobs. Our global ecological risk team is located across the US, Canada, and Australia. There will be opportunities for learning through cross-training with experts in other disciplines such as human health risk assessment, environmental chemistry, geology/hydrogeology, and data analytics. You will be involved in multiple projects and must be effective at time management, prioritization of tasks, and clear communication with your project teams and clients. You will have opportunities to interact directly with clients and other stakeholders and will travel to sites and perform field work. You may also have opportunities to attend and participate in professional society conferences.

Bring your positive outlook and flexible leadership style, and we will help grow what drives you – solving complex site characterization and remediation problems, together.
