How you’ll spend your day
  • Responsible for deal making strategy for driving Teva’s growth.
  • Serves as a key ambassador for Teva’s business development aims and objectives with biopharma and biotech companies.
  • Supports deal teams to drive internal and external processes to bring deals to closure.
Your experience and qualifications

For operational efficiency and effectiveness with global teams, the target geographic location for this role is in New Jersey for the ease of access to Teva’s physical office.

  • Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree or a higher level degree is preferred, along with a scientific background in drug development and commercialization.
  • Minimum 7 years experience cumulative related to BD, R&D in biopharma and a strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
  • The ideal candidate profile will be an experienced dealmaker with a track record as a deal architect and a deal closer in the global biopharma arena. They will bring functional expertise in BD&L, strategic partnership, and financing, along with a strong reputation and network for “opening doors” in the industry. The ideal candidate profile will likely come from a current role with equivalent responsibilities in a global big pharma or a big biotech, and yet operate with a dynamic and entrepreneurial mindset.
  • The successful candidate will be pragmatic and operationally savvy. They will bring a sense of urgency in the ability to identify, evaluate, and seize opportunities, leveraging their expertise in a dynamic and competitive market environment.
  • This Senior Director is someone who naturally excels in a complex, challenging, highly entrepreneurial environment and can quickly identify the optimal path to corporate value creation. They will be hands-on, ready to pivot and change course when necessary to reach the best outcome.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, able to influence internal and external stakeholders. This individual will be highly visible at all levels of the organization and must be able to build trust and credibility.
  • Intimate understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and third-party-partnered development is strongly preferred.
  • Advanced principles and practices of project management.
  • Advanced principles and practices of program development, public speaking, program and project administration and management, including procurement and contract management.
  • Ability to support department goals, track, and report execution progress.
  • Proactive and collaborative, working with key stakeholders internally and externally.
  • Techniques to work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Interpreting and administering policies and procedures sufficient to administer, discuss, resolve, and explain them to staff and other constituencies.
  • Strong written and communication skills, including presentation skills.
  • Substantive experience in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
