What to Expect

For the Global Service Manufacturing Team in Tilburgwe are looking for an Engineering Technician. In this role you will beresponsible for all electrical and mechanical repairs, tests andremanufacturing for the Powertrain department.

You will be responsible to develop, implement and optimize the remanufacture ofTesla parts and systems (including batteries and drivetrains). Interactwith other Tesla technicians and engineers to develop, implement and continuallyimprove refurbishment processes, equipment, procedures and help integratelessons learned into new products.
Optimize product-flow through the repair/refurbishment process, which mayinclude line layout, tool and fixture selection, ergonomic study, equipment-design and implementation, and other relevant factors.
Interact with design, manufacture, test and quality engineers to identify theroot cause of in-house and field failure issues, resolve problems, improvere-manufacturability, and implement continual improvement.


What You’ll Do
  • Work safely withmanual/power tools and high voltage equipment.
  • Perform complex andprecise electrical and mechanical debug, repair and remanufacturing.
  • Outlining /Developing / Improving SOP’s relevant for Failure Analysis
  • Create failureanalysis training material and participate in training of productiontechnicians.
  • Work with, and helpdevelop specialized fixtures, test equipment, and procedures for failureanalysis.
  • Analyze data fromvehicle logs, service databases, repair orders, and production systems and beable to efficiently refine raw data sets to tell a meaningful story and developaction plans
  • Ability to identifyand analyze new failures modes from both the field and manufacturing lines.
  • Maintain repairhistory data through diligent record keeping and adherence to process.
  • Communicatefindings effectively to a variate of stakeholders.
  • Support safetyinitiatives within remanufacturing processes.
  • Maintain a cleanand orderly work area following best 5S practices.
  • Support inestablishing and track KPI metrics for production efficiency, quality, safetyand cost.
  • Apply leanmanufacturing fundamentals to reduce waste, improve efficiency, enhance quality,reduce cost and improve material flow.
  • Work withcross-disciplinary teams globally to establish and document remanufacturingprocesses, e.g. flowcharts and manufacturing instructions.
  • Drive follow-up andverification of actions for quality and production non-conformities, new partintroduction and validation of changes.
What You’ll Bring
  • 1+ year ofexperience with manufacturing/repair/maintenance of electronic/electricalsystems
  • Knowledge of highvoltage battery, AC motors, transmissions, electronics and DC electricalsystems and testing equipment
  • Knowledge andexperience with PCBs, FW/SF bugs, CAN communication protocols, diagnosistools/gauges plus familiar with related software (PCAN, Altium) and applicablestandards and best practices (familiar IPC standards or certifications is astrong plus).
  • Knowledge andexperience with analyzing large datasets and graphical representation of datais necessary. Knowledge of Python or SQL is preferred.
  • Experience withstatistical analysis and related software (Minitab/SPSS) is a plus.
  • Previous FailureAnalysis/Root Cause Analysis/8D problem solving experience is a plus.
  • Able to workflexible hours (weekends and split shifts).
  • Ability to performrepetitious duties while standing for long periods.
  • Ability to lift andmove weights up to 25kg. on a daily basis.
  • Must be fluent inthe English language.
