Proactively implement and guide site specific Health, Safety, Environmental (HSE) programs and procedures, behavioral safety processes, corporate HSE mandates, problem analysis/troubleshooting, and interpretation of applicable regulatory regulations.
Manage site incident reporting process to ensure effective investigation, identification of root causes, reporting, corrective actions, trends, and best practice sharing throughout the business.
Implement and lead the risk assessment program including but not limited to Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), Ergonomic, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), new chemicals, and equipment assessments for current activities and by participating in the project planning and turnover process regarding new equipment, plant process improvements, and modifications to the plant from the HSE perspective.
Manage HSE regulatory compliance programs such as permit requirements including recordkeeping and applicable documentation.
Develop and update site specific HSE training needs required by HSE regulatory agencies and West Corporate.
Contributes to and/or plans and executes HSE, Sustainability, Corporate Responsibility (CR), Business Continuity and Crisis Management related projects and in other key HSE initiatives as assigned by the Director of Operations and West HSE Corporate.
Liaison between the site and the HSE regulatory agencies, corporate, HSE related visits from customers or on behalf of customers.
Translates Corporate HSE initiatives to strategic and tactical goals and objectives for the site, location or business.
Provides leadership for site HSE staff, if applicable.
Manage onsite security.

Basic Qualifications:
BS Degree in the fields of Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or science related field.
8 to 10 years of experience on the HSE field
Must have knowledge of local and country HSE related regulations
Prior manufacturing experience in an industrial setting required
Experience writing and implementing HSE policies and procedures
Higher level of spoken and written knowledge of the English language
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Higher education in the fields of Environment, Health, Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or science related field
Must have knowledge of local and country HSE related laws and regulations
Good technical writing, presentation skills
Prior manufacturing experience in an industrial setting
Analytical problem solving
Able to track information and conduct audits
Ability to work irregular hours on occasion to support 24/7 operation
Ability to communicate with all levels of employees
Must have excellent interpersonal & problem-solving skills & be able to interface with employees in all levels of the organization; must possess good organization, time-management, negotiating & conflict resolution skills; excellent computer skills (including MS Office experience using Word & Excel) required.
Experience working with senior management and corporate leaders.
Travel Requirements:
Must be able to travel up to 5%: Up to 13 business days per year
