Job Description

As a Technical Lead you play a key role within the team. You will be working closely with our other technical leads, software engineers, product managers and solution architects, both within and across teams.

You will join our Clinical Trial Data Management product line that focuses on technology and process simplification and innovation to:

  • Improve the clinical trial experience for our patients.

  • Improve efficiency of study start up by reducing the time from study initiation to first site ready.

  • Remove obstacles and enable our business users to focus on what matters.

Partner with our Research Laboratories to harness the power of technology to reimagine and accelerate how we conduct clinical trials and bring the management of the clinical trial data to the level, where data flow seamlessly from patients to submission readiness.

Your responsibilities:

  • Lead a high-performing team of software engineers to deliver robust technology solutions

  • Assess the current state solutions and develop a roadmap to deliver greater business value and maintain a secure and modern technology landscape

  • Accountable to ensure that product solutions incorporate an approach that start with experimentation to validate expected impact, includes human centered design, follows agile principles, incorporates external insights, required end to end process optimizations, and compliance engagement

  • Partner with Product Managers to provide clarity on the business and technical requirements to drive the appropriate user stories and sprint planning

  • As a Technical Lead you will spend a lot of time helping shape the technical vision and strategy of the product. This requires discussions, conversations and consciously driving decisions in the right direction. This applies internally to the team and externally to our system's business and technical stakeholders. You will work side by side with Product Manager and Solution Architect and be accountable for the entire product lifecycle

  • Being a non-authoritative leader towards the team and a strong partner to business stakeholders are the right skills for this. Additionally, you will be responsible for guiding other teams to negotiate and align the technical strategies and adjust their solutions to the strategic architectural concepts

  • We also need you to share your knowledge with us and help other team-members grow their technical knowledge and expertise, especially in design and architecture of robust solutions

Your Experience and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related quantitative field

  • 5 years of experience as a Solution Architect, Data Architect, Principal Engineer, or similar role

  • Experience working in a product team

  • Excellent English and ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and business audiences

  • System analysis and design experience in scalable applications

  • Hands-on experience with DevOps processes and related tools including, but not limited to Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitHub, Jenkins, etc.

  • In-depth understanding of database structure principles, SQL, and NoSQL concepts

  • Experience with Cloud services like AWS and Azure

  • Strong software engineering and programming background in Python and other programming languages

  • Strong technical leadership and vendor management skills

  • Great organization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities

  • Self-driven with the ability to work in a self-guided manner

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Desired prior experience in the pharmaceutical industry

  • Desired experience with GxP validations, focus on GCP (Good Clinical Practices)

  • Desired experience with System Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
