The Medical Affairs department in the Netherlands consists of approximately 25 colleagues with backgrounds as doctors, pharmacists, or (PhD in) life sciences, and it serves as the scientific heartbeat of the company.
Purpose of the position
As the Therapeutic Area Lead (TA Lead) for General Medicine and Specialty Care, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of medical affairs within our organization. You will lead a talented team of Medical Advisors, ensuring a clear strategic vision that drives all medical activities in your therapeutic area. This includes overseeing a diverse pipeline that encompasses critical therapeutic areas such as immunology,, ophthalmology, and more.
Your key responsibilities will include developing and executing a robust local Medical Affairs strategy, fostering a high-performing and compliant team, andour interests in essential cross-functional collaborations. You will have the opportunity to be involved in significant product launches across these diverse fields, making a meaningful impact on patient care. Talent Development
Strategic Development of CMAPs: Develop and execute Country Medical Affairs Plans (CMAPs) that align with global strategies, ensuring adherence to regulations and operational procedures.
Scientific Insight Management
Budget Management
Represent Medical Affairs in cross-functional teams, advocating for interests and providing medicalexpertise
Engagement with External Stakeholders: Support the Country Medical Director inrepresenting
Network Development: Build andmaintaina network of key scientific leaders and external stakeholders to gather insights that inform local, regional, and global strategies for innovative medicines in General Medicine and Specialty Care.
Your profile
: MD, PhD, or PharmDrequired
: Minimum of 3 years of experience in medical affairs within the biopharmaceutical industry.
Leadership Abilities: Proven leadership and organizational skills, witha track record
Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of local and regional regulatory agencies, as well as ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations pertinent to the pharmaceutical industry to ensure compliance with all internal and external standards.
Strategic Prioritization: Strong prioritization skills and the ability to evaluate how decisions align with broader corporate strategies.
Communication Skills:Demonstratedcapability to effectively convey information to country management.
