Responsibilities
- Develop substantive knowledge of Exchange’s rules and CFTC regulations
- Stay informed on relevant Federal regulations, policy and developments
- Develop knowledge of commodity markets, particularly related to energy, financial & agricultural markets
- Monitor the relation between cash commodity fundamentals and the futures market, particularly in energy and agricultural markets
- Work with large, complex data sets
- Research data from a variety of real time and post trade systems to identify abnormalities or potential rule violations
- Document detailed analyses of trading activity
- Conduct investigations of potential rule violations by obtaining testimony, compiling records and drafting investigative reports for presentation to disciplinary committees
- Build relationships with market participants and provide guidance on Exchange rules
- Improve common processes to find efficiencies
- Collaborate with others on technology and systems to enhance operational processes
Knowledge and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, Math or Juris Doctorate
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Familiarity with futures markets, commodities and trading
- Familiarity with data analytic tools is a plus
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter who can prioritize and meet deadline pressure
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, high stress environment
- Ability to communicate with market participants, federal regulators and executive management
- Knowledge of futures exchange operations, trading, risk management or regulations
