Responsibilities
- Monitoring alerts which detect suspicious trading activity and escalate suspected market abuse, financial crime and rule breaches
- Prepare reports for colleagues and senior management
- Produce Suspicious Transaction and Order Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports for submission to the relevant regulatory bodies
- Interrogate relevant data points to identify suspect trading behaviour
- Issue correspondence to Members and otherwise assist with Exchange investigations in relation to suspected instances of rule breaches ensuring cases are managed in a timely manner
- Maintain internal policies and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to telephone and email enquiries from Members and market participants
- Assist in the ongoing testing and enhancement of surveillance controls; produce technical and procedural documentation as required
- Assist with the review and publication of open interest and Exchange position reporting
- Undertake ad-hoc project work
Knowledge and Experience
- Educated to degree level or equivalent (Finance, Mathematics, Law, Engineering or similar)
- Strong IT literacy skills
- Excellent report writing skills and attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, interacting effectively at all levels, including with external stakeholders
- Proficient at identifying various issues and working efficiently to resolve problems
- Enthusiastic approach and a drive to continually improve and develop working practices and industry knowledge
- Strong organisational skills; ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure and to deadlines
