What you will do:
Be a champion of excellence and willbe responsible forthe delivery, reliability, operation, and ownership ofcritical features and componentswithinVenmo’s core application.
Lead a high-performing team of software engineers, and bring the leadershiprequiredto solve complex, ambiguous, and high-visibility business challenges to drive growth, engagement, and monetization of Venmo.
Be responsible forthe delivery of projects, including quality and timeliness, thatimpactyour domain, and you willmanage thetechnicalroadmap foryourscrum teamand ensure alignment to a defined larger domain strategy.
Inform and influence technical decision making for the components within your group to improve efficiency, productivity, and operational stability.
Establisharecordofsuccessful technical leadership, asolidunderstanding of software architecture, and the ability to effectively manageanengineering teamthat deliversprojectsspanningplatformsor groups.
Work with andenricha talented and high-functioning team, lead them through ambiguity,andhelpdeterminetheir long-term strategy along with the organization’s engineering roadmap.

Job Requirements

5+ years of experience in software engineering, architecture, and/or product development.
3+ years managing a geographically distributed engineering team
Advancedtechnicalacumen in distributed systems design and full stack development, with the ability to connect well with technically savvy engineers and other stakeholders across the organization.
Demonstratea high emotional quotient and empathy, with the ability to build trust and create psychological safety while tackling tough problems and navigating conflicts.
Practicedin incident management. You bring direction and clarity to ensure urgency in mitigation at the time of an incident and comprehensiveness in fast follow-ups with root cause analysis and corrective actions.
