Job Summary:

As an Equity Research Translator within the China Publishing Team, you will work alongside Supervisory Analysts, Research Reviewers, Translators, and Production Specialists to provide accurate, clear, and professional translation services for the Equity Research business.

Job Responsibilities

• Translate equity research reports and related documents from English into simplified Chinese, and vice versa.
• Proofread and edit team members’ translations when needed.
• Take the lead in creating and maintaining glossaries for the machine translation engine (MTE); collect the translation team’s feedback and share it with the tech team to help train the MTE.
• Multitask and prioritize in a busy environment and translate a variety of products: notes, company initiations, quick-take alerts, industry reports, blast emails, podcasts/videos, models, and PowerPoint presentations.
• Contribute ideas/thoughts aimed at improving translation quality/efficiency/consistency.
• Embrace new technology, especially in the area of AI translation.
• Act as a point of contact between the translation team and stakeholders in the publishing process
• Work in a commercial manner, balancing accuracy and speed, in order to meet morning meeting and publication deadlines.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

• Native fluency in Chinese, excellent command of both written and spoken English.
• Focused, articulate, detail-oriented, commercially minded, organized, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
• Flexibility, as workflow volumes can vary.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Qualified to be registered as a general securities practitioner with Securities Association of China.

Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

• At least five years of experience in equity research translation, preferably with a leading securities firm.
