Works with the Shipping Teams at other NetApp locations working toward procedural consistency among the sites, documenting individual site disparities.
Monitors and troubleshoots open items for Finance Group to ensure timely closure and receiving confirmation for invoicing purposes.
Ensures SOX compliance, ISO Certification, and other training requirements.
Tracks and maintains data for reporting metrics and KPIs.
Coordinates/delegates activities for local shipping team; including but not limited to scheduling pick-ups/deliveries, verifying and keeping records of incoming and outgoing shipments, asset tagging, preparing items for US and International shipments in partnership with Global Trade Compliance, determining shipping priorities, work assignments, shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes and rates.
Interacts with employees and program liaisons regularly to communicate, update, gather feedback, and monitor status of relevant procedures (e-waste, equipment staging, etc.)
Helps prepare correspondence, reports, standard operating procedures, and safety manuals.
Supports NetApp's Asset Recovery program for the Midwest region.
Local point of escalation for shipping/receiving questions.
Operates lift trucks, pallet jacks, stretch wrap banders, and other mechanical packaging equipment as required.
Conducts inspections of incoming shipments and documents (photo/written)/completes paperwork for damaged goods.
Ability to use key software including UPS ShipExec and Bear River; as well as follow all mail/package handling and security practices.
Ensures dock/job safety practices are aligned with OSHA and NetApp Standards.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma/approved GED; Bachelor's Degree preferred but not required
Minimum 5 years of experience in Shipping & Receiving/Distribution operations preferred
Strong customer service skills, written/verbal communication skills, and decision-making ability
Knowledge of regulatory compliance of hazardous and non-hazardous materials both domestic and international
Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and proficiency with Oracle or similar ERP systems.
