Your impact

As a, you will be responsible for undertaking and coordinating the delivery of multiple tasks on the high-complexity transportation projects. You will work with a team of technical professionals in coordinating the development of transportation projects including the design, technical specifications, cost estimate, construction schedule, and supporting oversight activities during the design/construction phase.


In this role, you will:

  • Support project management and coordinate project delivery to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Champion the delivery of high-quality projects that meet or exceed client expectations.
  • Coordinate the development of the design of transportation projects of various sizes (which may exceed $1B), including the Reference Concept Design and detailed design packages.
  • Coordinate the development of procurement and contract documents, including technical requirements or specifications.
  • Coordinate activities and deliverables in the design and construction phase, leading to substantial and final completion.
  • Coordinate the development of the cost estimate, risk register, and construction schedule.
  • Coordinate with various discipline leads, including with client or partner organizations, to deliver project deliverables.
  • Support client and stakeholder relationship development.
  • Work with the sales team, as required, on proposal development.
Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 3–6 years of experience in preliminary or detailed design, project coordination, and/or construction inspection/oversight of major capital projects in Ontario.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario, or EIT working towards being licensed in the near term.
  • Experience in transportation projects in transit, highway/bridge, and/or municipal engineering and construction major capital projects.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented as well as highly resourceful and self-directed, with a key focus on important skills including communications, time management, teamwork, report writing, and proposal preparation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Experience preparing presentations, briefing material, memos, and technical reports.
  • Empathy, self-awareness, and career enthusiasm.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  1. Experience in complex transportation assignments.
  2. Experience with Environmental Assessment, Preliminary/Reference Concept Design, and Detail Design assignments.
  3. Experience monitoring delivery budgets on complex multi-phase capital projects.
  4. Experience with alternative delivery models.
  5. Experience with transportation departments/ministries, transit agencies, and municipal clients (preferably in Ontario).
