The Director, Revenue Accounting – Generic Brands, will lead the US Generics Revenue Accounting Team reporting to the Sr. Director of Revenue Accounting. The Director of Revenue Accounting will manage a team with ownership of monthly and quarterly accounting processes for all US Generic product revenues, delivering close results accurately and timely, supporting quarterly and annual audit requirements and promoting and maintaining a strong control environment. This role will participate, and support forecasting and budgeting processes specifically focused on understanding Gross to Net estimates and liabilities for existing and future products. In addition to key accounting deliverables this role will also develop the efficiency and accuracy of accounting operations of daily revenue reporting and supporting commercial management requests needed to properly evaluate product profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Oversee team in the preparation and review of accounting close activities including the review of new contracts, complex account reconciliations, quarterly analytics and controls
• Responsible for analysis of sales reserves - on-going and formalized month-end / quarter-end basis.
• Support continuous improvement of the efficiency and accuracy of internal reporting measures including daily scorecard/flash, monthly/quarterly revenue analytics and profitability reporting
• Primary contact for financial planning leads in providing forecasted and actual data related to gross to net reserves
• Support external reporting and audit requirements
• Support internal business requests for product performance analytics
• Drive continuous development of tools to drive efficiency and promote scalability as it relates to issue identification and resolution in day to day operations of internal reporting
• Expand the use of and engagement in reporting tools to improve efficiency
• Opportunities to collaborate and support efforts in other areas of business
Position Requirements
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
Education Preferred CPA License or MBA
Experience Required: Minimum 8+ years progressive accounting experience
Pharmaceutical Industry Experience
Prior revenue accounting experience
Prior supervisory experience
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Experience Preferred: Experience with SAP ERP Modules
Specialized or Technical Knowledge Licenses, Certifications needed: Knowledge and experience in application of US GAAP
