Strategic Activities

  • Developing and executing the local
    Medical Affairs strategy for Oncology
    , as well as overseeing the oncology strategy in the country.
  • Managing a high-performing, highly compliant Medical Advisors Team for Oncology.
  • Representing Medical Affairs Oncology in cross-functional strategic collaborations with other Research & Development Division functions, Human Health (HH), and others.
  • Supporting the Country Medical Director in representing our company in external activities related to oncology requiring the leadership and expertise of Country’s senior medical leader.
  • Strategically develop, execute, and delivers CMAPs for Oncology including tactical deliverables for each therapeutic area, such as post-licensure research, publication plans, investigator-initiated studies, and other knowledge transfer activities.
  • Ensure alignment of the CMAPs with global strategy and adherence to all relevant regulations, Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Drive actionable scientific insight activities by to inform company strategies.
  • Interact with local Market Access, CORE and Global Medical Scientific Affairs experts to develop and manage observational, real-world effectiveness and epidemiologic studies.
  • Collaborate with local Market Access to understand the needs for patient access, including the value discussions of our company’s portfolio in oncology.
  • Collaborate with local Market Access and regulatory colleagues by providing scientific expertise and managing the medical aspects of submissions for regulatory, reimbursement or tenders for our company’s portfolio of oncology products.
  • Provide strategic input on potential sites and investigators to GCTO for our clinical development program.
  • Provide medical expertise, including sharing of insights to the commercial product teams, ensuring the scientific and medical value of our oncology products.

  • Lead by example and serve as a role model for creating, leading and retaining a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Proactively recruit, on-board, manage, develop and retain talent.
  • Proactively identify new opportunities and gaps vs. emerging needs and address in a timely manner by supporting the country medical director in reallocating and training of existing staff and/or external recruitment.

  • Ensure that individual priorities and personal development plans are created and monitored.

Required skills

  • A thorough understanding of local/regional regulatory environment/agencies, and other ethical guidelines, laws, and regulations relevant to the pharmaceutical industry and its customers to ensure compliance with all external and internal guidelines and standard operating procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop a network of scientific leaders and other key stakeholders (e.g., public groups, government officials, medical professional organizations).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including ability to lead a therapeutic team across a geographical area, to set goals and priorities, to communicate a vision and align people in a constantly changing environment.
  • Proven ability to effectively collaborate across functions and organizational levels including country management level.

Education & Experience

  • The position requires Medical Degree (medical doctor).
  • At least 3-5 years of biopharmaceutical industry experience in medical affairs (or clinical development) preferrable in the specific therapeutic area.
  • Previous people management experience is valuable.
