Compliance Technical Specialist(TS), you will work with a team of sales, technical, partner and consulting resources to educate andthe value of our data security and governance solutions to our customers, empowering them to protect, govern, and safeguard their sensitive data while also managing regulatory compliance requirements andcustomer & employee privacy. Your main goal will be to win the technical decision of customers toMicrosoft data security solutions. Being part of this team will allow you to strengthen both your deep technicalas well as your consultative selling skills across Microsoft and non-Microsoft cloud native data security solutions, architectures, programs, and technologies.

You will spend 75% of your work hours a week on qualified customer work – planning and orchestration, preparation, meetings (technical presentations, demos, POCs, compete positioning, workshops, etc.), while the other 25% of your time focused on further growing your technical, industry and competition acumen.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • ORBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience.
  • ORMaster's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 3+ years of technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
  • OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical pre-sales, technical consulting, or related experience OR equivalent experience
  • Certification in Microsoft 365 Security Administration or Azure Security
  • One or more ofIndustry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP, iAPP, etc.
  • Hands on technical knowledge of relevant products and solutions, but not limited to:
  • Enterprise data loss prevention
  • Enterprise discovery, labeling and classification of sensitiveinformation
  • Insider Risk Management solutions
  • Encryption protocols and technologies
  • Sharepointonlineispreferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft data security solutions (Microsoft information Protection, Data Loss Prevention/DLP, Insider Risk Management, Defender for Cloud Apps) or one or more related data security technology from Symantec, Proofpoint, Forcepoint, etc. isrequired.
  • Deep understanding industry/vertical focused data security standards/regulations such as HIPAA, PCI, GDPR, etc., and frameworks like Information Governance Reference Model (IGRM).
  • Technical Sales Acumen:Experience presenting the value of technology solutions and architectures through customer presentations, design sessions, POCs accelerating technical wins.
  • Professional:
  • Professional interpersonal skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly and concisely.
  • Develop andmaintaintechnicalexpertise:A technical specialist must stay up to date with the latest developments and advancements in security space including new tech, competitors, and internal product and services offerings.

Technology Specialists IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $103,800 - $200,300 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $133,700 - $219,200 per year.
Technology Specialists IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $129,200 - $248,800 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay Area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $162,000 - $268,900 per year.

Responsibilities

You will be the primary technical point of contact for potential customers during the sales process, owing and driving technical win for security opportunities.

  • Deep technical understanding of Data Security and Governance architectures, solutions/technologies including Microsoft Information Protection, Data Loss Prevention, Insider Risk Management, Defender for Cloud Apps (CASB), eDiscovery.
  • Coordinate weekly with sellers andmanagerto understand opportunities, compete scenarios and engagements to focus on, engaging and driving to own and win the technical
  • Remediate blockers; leads and ensures technical wins for Microsoft Security and adjacent technologies. Engages with and reaches out to customers proactively and independently; builds credibility with customers as a trusted advisor for Microsoft Security; and searches for and uses Microsoft Security customer references; and drivescustomerintent to consume and drives handoff to customer success for post sales deployment.
  • Develop strategies and recommendations to improve the client's data security posture, shapes technical win plan and tailors Microsoft messaging to audience for security opportunities.Enhancesteam capabilities for cloud native data security patterns and architectures and develop differentiated compete strategies for assigned customers.
  • Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, workshops, architecture design sessions, explain,demonstrate, and architect the solution to help solve customer security challenges and priorities.
  • Demonstrates and oversees proof of concepts,presentsand applies architecture patterns, proves capabilities and integration into customer environment, and drives cross-workload support for Microsoft solutions for data security. Leverages insights and coaches' teams to align new or changing technology to customer needs.
  • A technical specialistis responsible forengaging with other teams within and outside the organization throughout the sales cycle. Engaging partners in sell-with scenarios and supporting their technical capabilities is key to scaling solution delivery.
