As a Working Student at the eBay office in Amsterdam, Netherlands, you will collaborate with a team of researchers and software engineers using state-of-the-art technologies to tackle the most complex problems in natural language processing and text mining. In cooperation with the university, you’ll conduct research to improve current models and contribute to prototyping of innovative solutions. As part of your role you will extract and prepare training data, write algorithms with the goal to improve Large Language Models through optimization techniques, human feedback, etc.

• Pursuing a Master’s or PhD degree in Artificial Intelligence or related fields with a preferred specialization in natural language processing

• Starting date in June/July 2024

• Experience with designing and training machine learning models and in particular Transformers and LLMs.

• Demonstrable ability to work independently and make good decisions with minimal direction

• Strong communication skills (fluent English, both verbal and written)

• Experience working with complex and large text and web data

• Programming skills (Python/C++, bash command-line tools, docker)

• A comfortable working environment in the center of Amsterdam
