Description
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Deep understanding of general privacy laws, regulations, requirements and industry best practices.- Advising the business on legal, regulatory, and business standards. - Supporting and monitoring a privacy program, as needed, to ensure that technology and business processes meet applicable legal requirements. - Coordinating internal and external investigations, compliance reviews and monitoring activities. - Identifying and communicating potential risks areas with leadership. - Staying informed of and properly communicating any changes to or developments in privacy laws, regulations, standards, and guidance.
Key Qualifications
  • Knowledge of comprehensive privacy laws, and regulatory and other guidance and standards
  • Understanding of US state and federal sector-specific privacy laws
  • Ability to clearly organize and inform through excellent written and verbal communications
  • Ability to lead, take action, and provide direction in the face of ambiguity
  • Experience quickly issue-spotting, analyzing, and clearly communicating privacy advice on complex legal issues
  • Experience drafting and negotiating privacy related contracts
  • Experience conducting ongoing compliance monitoring activities in coordination with other compliance and operational assessment functions
  • Ability to get results in diverse, fast paced environments
  • Strong analytical capability with attention to detail
  • Ability to partner at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • 6-10 years privacy experience as an associate at a premier law firm or business. In-house experience a plus but not essential.
Education & Experience
JD with 6-10 years experience in privacy and admission to at least one US state bar.
Pay & Benefits
  • At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $189,200 and $284,400, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Note: Apple benefit, compensation and employee stock programs are subject to eligibility requirements and other terms of the applicable plan or program.
