In this role, you'll focus on developing and implementing Akamai's next generation Compute infrastructure. You'll be expected to drive automation, operational excellence, and support our customer facing applications and infrastructure. This requires creative thinking combined with deep domain expertise on Linux networking, configuration management, and performance tuning.

As a Senior Manager of Network Infra Site Reliability Engineering, you will be responsible for:

• Managing and mentoring a team of talented leads and engineers
• Defining requirements as part of the product lifecycle to influence the new designs and standards
• Providing support, leadership and motivation for project teams
• Collaborating with our support, operations and engineering teams to investigate and troubleshoot complex problems
• Improving our system monitoring and analysis platform to speed error detection and remediation, enhancing performance and reliability
• Participating in on-call rotations, guiding restoration and repair of service-impacting issues

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 10 years experience, including managing an engineering team and a Bachelor's or equivalent professional experience
• Possess expert level experience in a DevOps, Development, or SysAdmin role, working with large scale distributed systems
• Experience with architecting software and infrastructure at scale
• Able to work in alignment with strategic business initiatives and coordinate the work of other engineers
• Possess excellent communication, mentorship, and interpersonal skills
• Have informed opinions on technology and software design to bring to the table
