Responsibilities

The Global Closing, Consolidation and Transformation Manager is responsible for the following:

  • Ultimate responsibility for the closing & consolidation processes for the GEHC ~300+ company codes to ensure complete and accurate consolidation of financial results, including but not limited to compliance with US GAAP, GE GAP, and SOX 404 control requirements;

  • Lead the organization responsible for coordination of the regional closing and reporting activities, as well as accounting for any cross-business transactions in preparation of the consolidated results to be used for External Reporting;

  • Serve as an escalation point for the GE HealthCare controllership teams and FP&A for any closing and reporting related issues;

  • Responsible for interpretation and implementation of U.S. GAAP and internal company policies (inclusive of GEHC Global policies, segment policies, and Enterprise Standards) impacting the closing and reporting processes;

  • Drive continued transformation, simplification & standardization of the Record to Report (R2R) processes within GEHC HealthCare, with special focus on the closing and consolidation process;

  • Managing operating mechanisms to drive and track overall Controllership Transformation activities to ensure progress as it relates to more accurate and timely monthly closing, along with ensuring progress on reducing manual effort to close;

  • Support acquisitions, dispositions and business reorganizations (e.g., Recasts), specifically as it relates to closing & reporting;

  • Serve as controllership liaison on financial system and ERP implementations, as well as assisting in coordinating impacts related to legal entity and company code simplification;

  • Manage overall GEHC Account Reconciliation Process, including reporting and quality assurance program (e.g. internal audit);

  • Proactively identify potential risks & opportunities and communicate effectively. Interpret finance risks & opportunities to local circumstances & present workable solutions;

  • Preparing ad hoc financial analyses and presentations upon request;

  • Provide research and resolution to complex issues and procedural challenges, and

  • Perform ad-hoc special projects.

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Significant experience in accounting or finance

  • Demonstrated proficiency in U.S. GAAP/IFRS

  • Experience in research of accounting and reporting issues, including interpreting U.S. GAAP and SEC Reporting Rules.

  • Demonstrated expertise in application of policies and procedures for day-to-day accounting and financial transactions. Working level understanding of US GAAP and SEC requirements for areas of responsibility for this role.

  • Strong analytic skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers generate alternatives and drive positive change

  • Clear thinking / strong problem-solving grasp new ideas quickly; take initiative to understand root causes of issues and development solutions; able to work independently; manage multiple tasks.

  • Excellent communication skills: experience working across multiple levels (including executive level), functions and regions; able to clearly communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand manner; able to deliver messages effectively verbally and in writing.

  • Strong experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, Hyperion, FCCS, ARCS, etc.), strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (i.e. pivot tables, VLOOKUP).

  • Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others

  • You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background.

  • You must be willing to take a drug test.
