The Global Compensation & Benefits Accounting Manager is a newly created role for GE Healthcare. In this position, you will be responsible for various accounting and financial reporting activities related to payroll, compensation & benefits. You will oversee an established offshore team, will be responsible for the ongoing accounting and reporting for global compensation & benefit accounts including global mobility. Ideally, you shall have experience in accounting and financial reporting in addition to solid skills in problem solving, contractor management, verbal and written communication, and working cross functionally in a global organization.
Roles and Responsibilities- Lead global operational payroll accounting team and process using Payroll Accounting System or manual payroll to ensure payroll journal entries, accruals and allocations are properly booked.
- Participate in accounting aspects of ongoing process improvements, new set-ups and testing of the GPAS system. Identify areas for improvement and apply lean concepts where applicable.
- Ensure payroll liability and benefit accounts reflect appropriate obligations as of the balance sheet date and are properly reconciled.
- Manage the clearing of liabilities established through the payroll accounting process.
- Manage offshore team (approx. 30) to support the reconciliations and transactional responsibilities of global accounts.
- Support all audit requests – external, internal and STAT
- Document and monitor policies and procedures.
- Assist and backup Global Mobility duties including employee costing, Tax Equalization collection, STBT Taxes Payable and intercompany transactions.
- Special projects as needed to enhance business compliance and cost projections.
- Maintaining relationships with payroll, treasury, & benefits teams, and other external advisors.
Required Qualifications- Advanced experience in Finance & Accounting Operations. Knowledge level is comparable to a Bachelor’s Degree.
- At least 5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
- At least 3 years of payroll accounting experience.
- Experience working in a global business environment.
- Strong analytic skills.
- Clear thinking / strong problem solving: able to work independently; manage multiple tasks.
- Strong communication skills: experience working across multiple levels, functions and regions; able to deliver messages effectively verbally and in writing.
- Integrity: Accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions, and when dealing with others.
- Experience with financial systems/applications (i.e.: Oracle, Hyperion etc.), strong Excel skills.
- You must be willing to submit to a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background.
- You must be willing to take a drug test.
