The team you’ll be part of
As a Silicon Photonics Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the entire development process, from design to fabrication, testing, and analysis, working primarily with colleagues in the USA and Germany. You will collaborate closely with our experienced silicon photonics designers who have a proven track record of delivering innovative photonic device designs and large-scale silicon photonics circuits.


What you will learn and contribute to

• Lead or support the design of cutting-edge high-speed active and passive photonic devices and complex photonic integrated circuits and systems.

• Develop innovative design approaches and push the boundaries of device-level design and system-level optimization.

• Work closely with our fab partners to ensure seamless integration of our designs into production.

• Drive test development and perform data analysis of your devices, linking design with measurement to ensure optimal performance.

• Collaborate with all functional teams in the organization to deliver co-designed and co-optimized photonics systems, contributing to the success of our projects.

Your skills and experience

You have:
• Ph.D. in electrical engineering / physics / applied physics / similar quantitative fields.
• Solid programming skills in Python or C/C++.
• Good understanding of general concepts in physics, especially in optics or electromagnetics.
• Solid understanding of general concepts in fiber optics and integrated optics.
• Experience with designing or characterizing silicon photonic or other integrated optical/optoelectronic devices or circuits.
• You are fluent in spoken and written English
• Good communication skills

It would be nice if you had:

• Proficiency with optics design tools, such as Lumerical.
• Solid numerical and physics-related programming skills.
• Experience with high-frequency design and modeling.
• Experience in TCAD modeling.
• Experience with epitaxial growth and design.
• Experience with controls theory and implementation.
